Felicity's 1st Birthday

Yesterday was Felicity's 1st birthday. We get Hyrum out of school early so we could make it to the cemetery before it got dark.

First we headed to Taco Bell for lunch since that's where Dad was trying to get something to eat when he almost missed her birth a year ago! We thought it would be fun to remember that and share that with the kids.

Then we headed to the store to get the balloons, the boys all picked different colored balloons to send up this time. We had a nice time at the cemetery, then headed home.

We did a little party and had a perfect butterfly theme thanks to my cousin Jeanie that sent it all in a thoughtful package last week. Isaac got to the cake before we did and left his mark with his "Helping Hands" (you'll see the pic below).

We got a box that will be our Felicity remembrance box. We got things that reminded us of her and placed them in the box. The kids drew pictures for her and notes. I think we'll try to do this every year and pull it out whenever the kids are thinking of her and want to do something special. (thanks for the idea Cami)

The kids had a great time and tried to be happy all day since they knew that's what Felicity would want. We love her so much and had the happy thought that we were sending our balloons up to her where she was probably having her own party with her new baby sister, Great Grandparents and other loved ones!

Here are some photos of Her day!

With as hard of a day that must have been, you guys sure did make the most of it... good for you! I think it's so great that you provided such a memorable time spent together as a family. I'm so glad it was sweet experience for you guys. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you!

((hugs)) I'm sure that was hard. It sounds like it'll be a nice thing for the kids, to remember their sister.

(I guess the date is wrong on your Christmas party pic in the sidebar?)
