Hyrum's 1st day!

Hyrum was so excited to start 1st grade this year and go to school a full day and have lunch at school! He is in the Spanish immersion program so this year he has all his studies in English one week and then the following week he trades class rooms and teachers and does all his studies in Spanish for the next week. They alternate back and forth every other week between complete English, then complete Spanish. He's told us that his Spanish teacher says she'll get in trouble with the principle if she's caught speaking English... he thinks that's really funny. Anthony thinks it's really funny that he's developing a Mexican accent! Anthony served his mission in Argentina, so they differ a little in accents. It's really cute. He loves languages and is having a great time!

It's also a great social development as well since he's a very good student in English and top of the class helping all the time. But then when it's Spanish week he has to sit back a bit and get help from other kids in the class since he doesn't always understand all the language. We think it's helping him to be well rounded.

Last month he got the Super Sentinel award at school for making good choices and got to have lunch with the principle! He was so excited! He got one last year in Kindergarten for being a good student. Hyrum really enjoys school!

I can't believe how big Hyrum is!!! I remember watching him when he was just a little baby. These kids grow up so fast!
